On July 17-18, 2024, a meeting of the Council of Heads of Deposit Insurance Organizations of the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union was held in St. Petersburg, as well as a meeting of the Expert Group on the Harmonization of legislation in the field of insurance (guaranteeing) bank deposits, liquidation, financial recovery and bankruptcy of credit institutions at the territory of the Eurasian Economic Union (hereinafter – EAEU) under the Advisory Committee on Financial Markets of the Eurasian Economic Commission.
The above–mentioned events were attended by representatives The Agency of Deposit Compensation, the Eurasian Economic Commission, deposit insurance organizations and organizations of financial regulators of the EAEU member states, as well as representatives of other international delegations and foreign speakers.
During the events, important topics were discussed for integration processes within the Eurasian Economic Union, in particular for the formation of a common financial market and the harmonization of legislation of the member states in the field of insurance (guarantee) of bank deposits, as well as in the field of extending insurance protection to certain categories of persons and the liquidation of insolvent financial organizations.
